Santos has received an endorsement from the NSW Premier Chris Minns, in regards to the Narrabri gas project.
Santos is considering the development of gas facilities, but faces obstacles from landholders and fields owners.
If discussions continue to delay the project, the NSW Premier said his government is considering compulsory acquisition of the pipeline easement around the field.
Speaking at the Australian Workers Union conference today, he added the Narrabi gas project would cover half of New South Wales's gas needs.
This project is linked to the Premier's bid to decrease energy prices, with Minns also commenting:
“What we need now is for Santos to [...] commit to Narrabri and make an investment decision, and we need the Commonwealth Government to finally pull the eastern states together to establish the East Coast gas reserve”
