– Billabong’s blog (blog post, branded content) – A fake blog post to write branded content for a class
Luckily enough, yesterday was a sunny day in Victoria. But near our Torquay’s headquarters, surfers and locals began talking about winter. Indeed, it’s in every surfer’s mind that cold currents are coming from the Antarctic.
But nothing can stop us from following two great surfers we’re proud to partner with: Brazilian Italo Ferreira and Australian Mia McCarthy.
McCarthy went out for a sunrise session in the 14 degrees water at Torquay. A great opportunity to enjoy the water in Billabong’s new wetsuit. We almost waited for cooler weather to come around to try it out!
Ferreira on his hand was making waves at the Men’s Championship Tour. Both our champions showed us two ways to live surf. And after all, they’re both enjoyable when you feel good in the water!
Before McCarthy and Ferreira went into the water, that’s when Billabong got into action. We developed a brand-new wetsuit for them and any ocean lover ready to go in during winter. With this new wetsuit, you can only enjoy the water and stay warm in there. With Torquay’s water at 14 degrees, it’s almost like it was made for our suit, which was designed for water between 12 and 17 degrees thanks to it’s 4/3 conception, meaning it has 4mm thickness on the torso and legs, and 3mm on the arms.
This idea of such a suit was made possible thanks to the hard work of the Billabong technical and design teams. We developed it, tried it and it was approved by the bests on the coasts of Australia. Even better, if you want to enjoy a surf session in the coming months, we make our winter wetsuits between $299.99 – $549.99, so there’s a price range for everyone!
Then, what’s your next adventure? Sunny and warm beaches? Or are you ready to take on the cold?
At Billabong, we’ve got you covered!
